Hermann Oak Craftsman Grade Veg Tan 5-6 oz.
This is a mix of medium grade, American tanned sides. There might be a brand on it, or it might have some oxidized areas, or maybe even some off-kilter grain issues. But, while it's not perfect, it's pretty darned good. Hugely popular with holster & sheath makers because of its molding & oiling properties. If you're tooling on it... you will be spoiled rotten! This is one of our top selling leathers, and for good reason.
This leather is sold by the square foot. Whatever quantity is chosen at checkout will be the square footage received. Example - order quantity 5, receive a 5 square foot piece.
Since 1861, Hermann Oak has been tanning top-grain leather right here in Missouri. St. Louis-based, the company prides itself on its slow and careful tanning process. A process that produces the finest top-grain stamping and tooling leather in the world. The Hermann Oak name has become synonymous with high quality!
Ratings & Reviews
Finally decided to spend the extra money on the Hermann Oaks. I am happy with the color (it’s more tan and natural than the whiter regular veg tan I’ve been ordering!) I ordered 7 square feet and I wish I had just spent a little more and bought the higher grade as the areas towards the belly are very uneven and the rest has fat wrinkles all over it. But as long as it works I am fine with the natural marks!
