Saddle Skirting
Specifications
These are nice import skirting sides with a firm hand and tight grain. They are a little smaller than most skirting sides, at only 16 to 19 square feet, however they will still make fabulous saddle skirts, heavy harnesses, and other heavy duty projects.
Some of these sides do have natural imperfections, small holes, burnish marks, brands, Warbles, and the like.

Really happy with the side I received. I would not hesitate to purchase again. Good thickness and density, yet reasonable to cut. Tanned all the way through. Grain surface was quite nice. My particular side was virtually blemish-free except for the cattle brands on the hip. The majority of the hide was quite useable.
Very nice firm leather.

Tools great, takes dye well and both of my sides are very clean with the exception of small place that when tooled you can't notice it.
Highly disappointed

The price was too good to be true. I expected some imperfections but this is ridiculous. Right down the center of the skirting every 6-8 inches is a deep indent on the flesh side that leaves a raised dome on the opposing side like the skirting had been pressed against an object. There are four of these as well two massive "creases" in the leather. This renders like 3 feet of the side useless as I wanted to cut large panels. There is another 5 or so square inches that is flaking so bad it won't be use able either. There are several X shaped portions. These are smaller but still mar the surface. Lastly is a foot and a half or so curved crease that borders the a fore mention indentations and extends past them. I don't see anything in the listing that gives it any sort of quality rating. It says to expect natural imperfections and brand marks but had I known it was going to be this bad I'd have saved my money.
Great buy, better bargain.

Strong tight grain, heavy and dense. Great for tooling and armor, and soles for shoes.
