Navajo Goat Skins

Very soft, pliable, a little stretchy with a pleasant honey color on top, brighter yellowy back. Would make great bags, linings, moccasins, and anything that you wanted to be soft and squishy. The yellow that shows when you cut it gives you the opportunity to have striking looking exposed seams like you see on many expensive bags today. 3-6 ft avg, sold by the skin only. (if you order 5, you’ll get one piece with an area of 5 sq ft in it.) This has been one of the best selling leathers that we’ve had in recent times….

Excellent Value

A great value for many projects, too light for moccassins but great for everything that you usually use deerskin for.

This goat skins sews a nice Teddy bear

I purchased twenty of these goat skins for moccasins but ended up making Teddy bears with it. The softness of the unfinished side is perfect for a bear intended for kids under 4 year old. This leather glues and hand sews well and turns right side out or right side in with ease. No need to wet the leather to turn the bear correct way after you sew it. With the fact that some skins were smaller then others I was able to make nine of the small SLC Teddy bears out of the twenty skins. I will be buying more of this Navaho goat skins because I have eleven more requests for bears.

A little bit hit and miss

The last batch I got had some hides that were incredibly thin more like 1mm thick than 1.6

A++ for the price

Takes walnut dye good, I cut mine with 91% alchohol. takes a couple dips and brush it out even but it also dries much stiffer. Then use neatsfoot oil to finish the surface

Soft, stretchy. Good for moccasins

Not a favorite. It's really stretchy so not what I wanted to make bags. Not crazy about the color. That said, it's super soft and thick and, as always, SLC was very generous! I'll try to make some moccasins with it. I think this leather would be perfect for that. The leather is nice, just not what I expected.

Stretchy. Soft. Mustard colored.

Not a fan of this leather. It's very stretchy and I think the color is quite ugly. That said, it's very soft. It's not a honey color, but rather more of a mustard shade. It won't take dye, so that's not an option. That said, it was a great deal and the quality is nice. I just have no use for it due to it being overly soft, with very little structure. It would be great for moccasins or some type of clothing. Just not good for structured bags.

GREAT DEAL, GREAT PRICE

As usual, expect SLC to give you more than you expect.

Soft, strong, little stretchy. makes me wish I knew how to sew gloves.

Very nice leather

Lovely soft goatskins, easy to work with. I am constructing a vest and it handles beautifully. The flesh side has a faint pattern to it, at least on the ones I got.
