Bought this specifically to make a purse for my wife and it was a great choice for that project. Since then I've also used it for a small coin purse and a couple sunglass cases and been very pleased with the results too. I've only been doing leather working for the past 9 or 10 months and this was my first chrome tanned piece I've used. It was very different from the bridle double shoulders I've mostly used (also from Springfield) but I know that's just to be expected. More rubbery in feel and workability than veg tan, less prone to scratching (therefore perfect for bags), and didn't really take to edge beveling, burnishing or stamping very well. All probably obvious things for experienced leather workers, but interesting from a newcomer's perspective. The 10 sq ft piece I bought had a lot of "natural character" in the form of imperfections, bites, a brand etc. but would buy again regardless. Curious to see how it holds up as the years go by!
