Hermann Oak Bridle Bends

We’re so happy to be able to offer another buying option for Hermann Oak Leather! Introducing HO Bridle Bends! Hermann Oak English Bridle leathers are 100 % Veg. Tanned leather that has been drum dyed and have the waxy feel, perfectly smooth grain, and flesh of traditional English leathers. The backs are pasted on the full weight (8-10 oz., and 10-12 oz.) but that won’t be the case for weights that have been split down (2-3 oz., 3-4 oz., 4-5 oz., 5-6 oz., 6-7 oz., and 7-8 oz.). We offer these split weights as a convenience for our customers; however, we do have to cover the cost of labor for the splitting, which means you’ll pay a little bit more money for these bends.

Hermann Oak uses heavy native steers, which means the bend will be larger, averaging approximately 10 to 12 sf., giving you a greater cutting yield. Excellent for belts and straps! Most will cut between (16) and (18) 1-1/2” strips from 52" to 60" long, give or take.

Note: In case you didn’t know, the Single Bend is the premium part of the hide. The belly, shoulder and neck have been cut off, leaving the best piece of leather for you to make a whole host of projects… with extremely minimal waste!
