Runs small

This pattern is a good starting point for a hat. Use one size bigger that what you measure your head as. i measured and used the appropriate pattern and my hat is to small. But that is my fault for not double checking before I started to cut. I used the XL pattern and it is to small. Easy to follow directions.

What is the material made of for giving shape to the brim, “....3mm cord...” ?

Great pattern. I did the double brim version. was very challenging! use the you tube tutorials. Hat was right on described size, or just a bit bigger, probably seemed bigger due to stretchy leather.
