At last! A positive side!

In an effort to generate at least one more "review" of this stone, I want it to be known that I HAVE found a use for it as a sharpening stone! It now lays in one of my kitchen drawers and I have found that it does a barely passing job of sharpening my serrated bread knife! I hardly use that knife for anything other than slicing certain brands of English muffins and bagels, but it DOES touch up the serrations of my bread knife to a certain point. I cannot leave the positive side of my recent review without mentioning that the stone is very soft for a "finishing" stone and has just about worn itself down to a nubbin of what it once was when I bought it. But for final finish on any edged tool, I will stick with my Shapton and Spyerco ceramic type stones for that job. I felt generous this morning and gave Mr. Osborne another star on his persistence in keeping this item in his line of otherwise fairly good, edged tools.

The Good, The Bad, and the REAL reason you don't tug on Superman's Cape!!

Quite possibly, the worst specialty sharpening stone I have bought in my 60+ years of keeping edged tools up and operating at maximum efficiency. My only reply, to those who are thinking of purchasing one of these abrasive "toys" is, "Let the Buyer BEWARE"!! There isn't enough space in this review to list all of the negative points from which I base my findings over the last 5 years or so that I have had this lying around my shop. It is so tiny that it doesn't even make a good weight to use on holding down a leather project to do tooling and not worth a fraction of the 20 bucks to buy and ship it into your shops! One Star is simply a gift to get the word out about a bad investment!
